Our Locations

Train Where It’s Convenient for You

We serve the Chicago area with two locations. A classroom in Addison for learning and a training lot in West Chicago for practice.

Our team supports you in English, Spanish, and Polish from your first call through graduation. Training and testing happen in English, as federal law requires. Classes run on flexible schedules that work around your job and family.

Then you move to the driving range. This is where you get behind the wheel and practice everything you learned. We have the biggest training lot in Illinois – 275,000 square feet. You’ll train on the same trucks that professionals drive every day. Plenty of room to practice backing up, turning, and parking.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have questions about CDL training. Here are the answers to what people ask us most.

Chicago area CDL schools generally run $3,000 to $6,000. Alpha prices in the lower half of that range. What you pay depends on your program and your schedule. Seasonal specials run at different points in the year. You get the full fee list before your first class, with no surprise charges. Call (630) 628-1111 for current pricing.

Yes. A small down payment starts your enrollment. From there you can pay by card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Affirm and PayPal let you spread payments over time. Some trucking companies also repay your tuition after they hire you. Call (630) 628-1111 and we will find the option that fits.

Two programs can cover your full tuition. WIOA grants pay for job training if you qualify. WIOA stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. It is a government program that funds career training. Veterans can use the GI Bill, and Alpha is VA approved. We help you check your eligibility and apply. Call (630) 628-1111.

Truck driving pays well and demand stays steady. Nationally, tractor trailer drivers earn a median of $57,440. That comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Chicago pays above that. Class A drivers here earn roughly $57,000 to $89,000. Class B runs $43,000 to $55,000. Chicago’s top earning Class A drivers clear $95,000. Experience, endorsements, and specialty routes get you there faster.

Yes. We partner with trucking companies across Chicagoland. We know which carriers are hiring and what each one pays. Then we help you pick the right fit for your life. Want local routes so you sleep at home? We match you there. You keep career help for life, not just at graduation. Call (630) 628-1111 and we will walk you through it.

You need six things. Be 18 to drive in Illinois, or 21 to drive across state lines. Hold a valid driver’s license. Show proof that you can legally live and work in the United States. Pass a DOT physical. Get your Commercial Learner’s Permit. Complete federal ELDT training, which Alpha provides. Not sure you qualify? Call (630) 628-1111.

Class A lets you drive tractor trailers over 26,001 pounds. It also covers combinations towing more than 10,000 pounds. Class B covers buses, dump trucks, and delivery trucks over 26,001 pounds. Those tow less than 10,000 pounds. Both lead to solid jobs. Class A opens more doors and pays more. Alpha trains for both.

Most students finish in 4 weeks. That is our standard program at 160 hours. In a hurry? We can accelerate it. Need a slower pace? We run a 6 week program at 200 hours. There is an 8 week program at 240 hours too. One federal rule applies to everyone: hold your learner’s permit 14 days before the road test.
